Warframe

One of if not the best free-to-play title out there, Warframe is all about that epic sci-fi combat. You basically play as space ninjas called Warframes, of which there are a variety to choose from with each having their own unique abilities. Throughout the game you’ll explore both linear and open-world environments while slashing and shooting your way through diverse enemies. It has received many big updates over the years, and has grown into an amazing third-person looter shooter, so if you don’t mind the amount of grind present here, then Warframe is a beautiful game you have to check out.
Anthem game preview

Anthem

Anthem is a third-person action RPG where you explore an online-only open-world as a Freelancer who is equipped with an exosuit called a Javelin. Throughout the game you’ll unlock these armored suits, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Don’t expect any PvP gameplay as Anthem is all about PvE combat, which is greatly executed. A lot of movement is present in Anthem both in fights and off them. Flying in this game is a joy, and is useful aplenty in many battles you’ll either take on solo or with friends. Story-based missions can be beaten alone or with friends; there are dungeons called Strongholds to take on, and you can simply enjoy flying through the game’s beautiful open-world in Freeplay mode. If you want exciting, satisfying action and traversal then Anthem is top-notch; other elements sadly aren’t near that level.

Tom Clancy's The Division Series

The Division’s snowy Manhattan and the not-so-snowy Washington D.C. are beautiful open-worlds to explore, and if you don’t mind the fact that you’re playing third-person and that the setting is more modern, then these tactical games are certainly worth a look. Use various different weapons and armor, level up and unlock skills that let you use cool machinery, take on PvE missions alone or with friends or go for valuable loot in the dangerous PvP Dark Zones. Whichever game you choose to go for in the series, you’re in for a great ride.
Titanfall Series game preview

Titanfall Series

Titanfall is an underrated FPS franchise. The polished gunplay, fluidity of movement enhanced by well-designed maps hearkens back to the days of Quake and Unreal Tournament, while keeping its own flair. Players in these games are called Pilots, fast, acrobatic soldiers who can traverse the environments in numerous different ways. Pilots can call in Titans, big, powerful mechs that fall from the sky for you to jump in and use. While the debut title only features multiplayer gameplay with the campaign also online, Titanfall 2 however manages to create an amazing single-player campaign and an exciting multiplayer experience, keeping a high level of quality in both segments. They aren’t looter shooters, but if you want more fantastic FPS gameplay, then the Titanfall games are no-brainers.

If you’re looking for another game like Destiny, but in third-person, then you may want to check out this free-to-play MMO shooter. There are PvP and PvE events and you get to choose one ‘EGO’ power out of four, but eventually you can unlock all of the abilities in the game. All in all, Defiance may not wow you but if you want a nice MMO with good gunplay and varied enemies then it might be worth taking a look.
