Our list of games like Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice will help you choose the right game to play next and enjoy every second of it.
Games Like Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Games like Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice put storytelling at the core of the experience, with believable characters and well-tackled themes that’ll stick with you long after the credits screen. Great writing may also be accompanied by stellar music, aesthetically-astounding environments and more.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice definitely nails everything mentioned above incredibly. If there’s a video game that can be called a work of art, then it’s this one. Ninja Theory, despite not boasting as big of a studio as triple A companies do, and certainly not having a budget as big as they do, have still managed to create such a high-quality adventure that possibly puts bigger companies to shame. While the combat obviously isn’t something that will wow you, everything else surely will.
The third-person Viking title puts you in the shoes of a Celtic warrior named Senua, who goes deep into Viking Hell on a brave quest to save her dead lover’s soul. Throughout the intense adventure, you get to genuinely experience what it’s like to be a person who is suffering from a mental condition named psychosis, thanks to the game’s extensive cooperation with neuroscientists and those who have psychosis. Rarely do you see a game’s narrative centered on one’s mental condition, and Hellblade manages to do it in a fantastic way, with sounds and voices sounding remarkably very real.
If you haven’t played Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and are looking for an immersive, narrative-focused title, then you have to try Ninja Theory’s excellent game, which also helps everyone better relate with those suffering from one or more mental disorders. But if you’ve already played it and are looking for more atmospheric games that stand out with their own theme and cast of characters then this list could prove beneficial. Find out if that is the case down below.
