Five Nights at Freddy’s Series Alternatives and Similar Games

The tension is tremendous in games like Five Nights at Freddy’s Series. They have you face many nightmares deep within the dark. Some may require you to use stealth as your main weapon, while others may let you face your fear head-on.

There’s no weapon to use to kill the creepy-looking animatronics in the Five Nights at Freddy’s games, but running is also not an option. Most of the titles have you stuck in a certain location as a person with a certain job that always takes place during the night. Your goal, as the name of the point & click titles imply, is to survive 5-night shifts.

The first two horror games take place in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant, where you must keep an eye on the animatronics via security cameras. While the first entry features a limited power supply that must be carefully used to close doors and turn on lights, the second entry offers unlimited power but removes the option of closing your office doors. A finite battery-powered flashlight is introduced, as well as an animatronic mask to hopefully trick your enemies.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 takes you to Fazbear’s Fright, a horror attraction with the same goal, except this time, there’s only one animatronic to deal with, while others are simply ghosts who will try to make life difficult for you. The 4th installment takes you to your home in the role of a child where you use a flashlight to defend yourself in your bedroom while the 5th game deviates from the norm, and instead allows you to go from room to room while completing your objectives as a technician.
